This unit equips trainees with the foundational knowledge and practical skills required to support road construction activities safely and effectively. It covers key processes involved in preparing, setting out, and executing basic road construction tasks. Learners are introduced to site preparation, earthworks, drainage installation, material handling, use of tools and equipment, and adherence to workplace safety standards. By the end of the unit, trainees will be able to assist in constructing road formation layers, follow technical instructions, maintain tools, and uphold quality and environmental requirements during road construction operations.
